Which hedging plants are the easiest to maintain?
Well, no hedging plant could actually be described as high maintenance or difficult to grow. Some plants are easier-going than others, but if you put the right plant in the right soil and location, there is precious little to choose between them.
Once established, maintaining a hedge really comes down to one thing – trimming to keep it in shape. And that means, subject to how neat a hedge you want, that the slower a hedge grows, the less trimming will be required. In these terms, therefore, the easiest hedging plants to maintain are Box and Yew. The choice only becomes complicated if you are impatient and want the easiest possible life:
