All hedging plants like and need sunlight, but there are some that will only thrive in full sun. These include:
• Photinia Red Robin AGM (Photinia x fraseri ‘Red Robin’) Pictured Top
• Purple Copper Beech (Fagus sylvatica ‘Purpurea’)
• Perovskia Blue Spire AGM (Perovskia atriplicifolia ‘Blue Spire’)
• Leylandii (Cupressocyparis Leylandii)
And, of course, Rosemary and all Lavenders.
Incidentally, you will see from this and the previous post that while Beech (Fagus sylvatica) will tolerate light shade, its ‘purple’ cousin (Fagus sylvatica ‘Purpurea’) needs full sun.
