Large Lavenders

Hedge Xpress
Jun 11, 2015 News 0 Comment

If you are a sooner-rather-than-later gardener, we now offer Large Lavenders in 10l containers…

Anyone who has planted a hedge will know – and accept – that a certain amount of patience is required as the single or double row of plants matures into the finished article. Of course, the larger the plants, the sooner the hedge will be a hedge. The same goes for a new bed, but somehow many of us are a little more impatient when it comes to planting or replanting islands and borders – we want it, but we want it now. Our large Lavenders currently include:

Lavender Dwarf Blue (Lavendula angustifolia ‘Dwarf Blue’)
Lavender Grosso (Lavandula x intermedia ‘Grosso’)
Lavender Imperial Gem (Lavandula Angustifolia ‘Imperial Gem’)
These join those already available in 5l containers:
Lavender Dwarf Blue (Lavendula angustifolia ‘Dwarf Blue’)
Lavender Imperial Gem (Lavandula angustifolia ‘Imperial Gem’)
Lavender Alba (Lavandula x intermedia ‘Alba’ )
Lavender Grosso (Lavandula x intermedia ‘Grosso’)
Lavender Twickel Purple (Lavandula angustifolia ‘Twickle Purple’)
Lavender x chaytoriae Richard Gray
Lavender x chaytoriae Sawyers

Whether you are after a new Lavender bed (see our next post) or adding Lavenders to an existing bed or border; singularly, in clumps or as edging, the advantages of choosing large plants are immediate impact, the speed with which they’ll establish and, subject to variety and timing, an early and glorious display of fragrant flower spikes.

When it comes to Lavenders, small may be beautiful, but large is magnificent.
