We are a family-owned and family-run horticultural business, now under second-generation leadership, and one of the UK’s leading growers and wholesalers. The business was founded in 1983 by brothers Julian and Gavin, who both studied horticulture and worked in a variety of nurseries before setting up JBS Nurseries on a nine-acre greenfield site in West Oxfordshire — well placed between Oxford, Abingdon, Wantage, Banbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester and Swindon, on the Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire border.
We produce over 330,000 plants every year, including around 50,000 lavenders. Since the beginning we have invested money in cutting-edge technology and time in extensive trials. The site was originally trade-only; it has been open to the public since 2011, and today we’re as keen to share our passion for plants with the public as with the trade.
The vast majority of our stock is grown here on site. We also carry larger specimens such as standards, pleached trees and topiary. We can source trees from trusted suppliers, so please do ask if you cannot find what you are looking for.
