When the light catches it, it shimmers beautifully.
Alchemilla mollis (Lady’s mantle) is a truly resilient and flexible plant. Able to grow in full sun or shade in dry to moist soil, in exposed or sheltered positions. It is generally disease and pest free but is often under used and over looked by designers and landscapers. It goes well in the front of a bed and pairs nicely with Salvias.
It is generally low maintenance, and just requires cutting back in late August. The RHS chose to rate the plant highly, giving it the award of garden merit.
It has no reported toxic effects on pets, humans, livestock or horses. Though I probably would not recommend eating it.
