About Echinops ‘Vietch’s Blue’

An architectural, upright perennial grown for its striking round flower heads, which open metallic blue from midsummer over deeply cut, thistle-like foliage.

It is a magnet for bees and butterflies, flowering in July and August, and the heads dry well for indoor arrangements. Ideal for borders, gravel and wildlife gardens.

Grow in full sun in free-draining, even poor, soil — it thrives where richer plants would flop.
