About Geranium ‘Brookside’

Geranium ‘Brookside’ is a medium sized flowering deciduous perennial, perfect for a pot, a border or ground cover. Easy to grow, hardy and long-flowering, this sprawling geranium will add a splash of beautiful lavender-blue to your garden.

A profusion of dish-shaped flowers in a beautiful violet-blue arrive in summer. Each clear blue flower is enhanced by overlapping petals with a bright white centre, and reddish-purple veining. Flowering from June to August Geranium ‘Brookside’ will fill any planting scheme with a wash of pretty blue blooms for months on end.

The gorgeous dense foliage is made up of yellowish-green, lobed and deeply divided downy leaves. When young the leaves and buds have a pretty silvery cast. And look out for the distinctive beak-like seed-pods which elongate after pollination, giving geraniums the common name Crane’s Bill.

Geranium ‘Brookside’ prefers any fertile soil (although do keep it away from waterlogged areas) and will happily grow in full sun or partial shade. Each autumn it dies back to below ground level, and fresh foliage will appear in spring when the weather warms.

A vigorous grower, Geranium ‘Brookside’ is a great option for naturalised planting schemes, and is also a really good plant for a city garden, a patio, woodland planting or formal border, in fact it’s happy pretty much anywhere.

Geranium ‘Brookside’ is a hybrid of G. clarkei and G. pratense.
