An elegant hardy geranium for shade, forming a clump of softly lobed leaves above which rise slender stems of small, reflexed flowers in deep dusky purple to near-black.
It flowers from late spring into early summer and copes admirably with dry shade, making it invaluable for woodland gardens, shady borders and underplanting.
Grow in partial to full shade in humus-rich soil that stays reasonably moist.
