Helleborus orientalis white, commonly known as the Lenten Rose, is a beautiful and hardy perennial flower that is native to Eastern Europe. It is a member of the Ranunculaceae family and is known for its large, showy blooms that come in a variety of colours, including white, pink, purple, and yellow, flowering between January and May. The flowers are cup-shaped and have five petals that are often speckled with darker spots. The foliage is evergreen and leathery, with deep green leaves that are divided into three to five lobes. The plant grows to a height of 45cm and spreads up to 45cm. It is a low-maintenance plant that is easy to care for and can thrive in a variety of soil types. It is best planted in full sun to partial shade and requires regular watering. It is a great choice for the front of a border, rock gardens, containers and particularly woodland edge gardens.
