Description
Lavender Grosso
For lavender lovers who want a display throughout the summer, Lavender Grosso is an indispensable addition to a planting scheme as this bushy, vigorous evergreen does not flower until August, later than other varieties. It is robust enough to flourish in most regions of the UK and is ideal for larger spaces. In flower, Lavender Grosso will reach a height of one metre and needs regular pruning after flowering.
Its open, light blue/violet flower spikes are tall, particularly fragrant and remain on the stem longer than most other lavender varieties. They make excellent cut flowers. The foliage is an attractive grey-green.
For the more adventurous, the yield of oil from the flowers is particularly high.
