The University of Southampton has shown Leylandii is 40% better at filtering out particulate pollution than native species such as hawthorn, making it a perfect hedge for boundary against a busy road.

Furthermore, due to its upright, dense, hardy nature it makes an ideal windbreak sheltering your gardens from the most vicious of winds. Offering a chance for the rest of your garden and the wildlife within to thrive.

Leylandii is fully hardy across all of the UK having a hardness rating of H6 and can cope with -15 to -20 C

The maximum height of Leylandii is over 12m with a width of 4-8m though this can be easily maintained through hedge trimming/pruning so do not let this put you off.
