About Melissa Lilac

‘Melissa Lilac’ stands out among the English lavenders for the sheer size of its flowers — plump, rounded heads in a soft lilac-pink, held on short stems above neat mounds of silvery-grey foliage.

It flowers through mid-summer with the classic sweet lavender scent, and is exceptionally attractive to bees and butterflies. The colour sits beautifully against stone, gravel and pale render.

Like all English lavenders it wants full sun and sharp drainage — it is far more likely to be killed by a wet winter than a cold one. Trim after flowering, cutting back into the green but never into old bare wood, to keep the plant compact and long-lived.

Grown here on the nursery, peat-free, alongside the rest of our lavender range.
