An upright, bushy evergreen with small, glossy, wavy-edged leaves carried on contrasting near-black stems. It gives year-round structure and makes an elegant informal hedge, screen or specimen.
It is easy and adaptable, and the neat foliage is excellent for cutting.
Grow in full sun to partial shade in free-draining soil, ideally sheltered. Trim to shape in late spring; it can reach a good size if left unpruned.
