Verbena bonariensis is an airy, see-through perennial carrying clusters of violet-purple flowers on tall, wiry stems from summer to autumn.
Free click & collect from the nursery, or delivery on larger orders.
A wonderfully transparent border plant with tall, branching, almost bare stems topped by small clusters of rich violet-purple flowers. You look straight through it, so it can go near the front as well as the back of a border.
It flowers for months from summer into autumn, is irresistible to butterflies and bees, and is a mainstay of prairie and wildlife planting. It self-seeds happily where content.
Grow in full sun in free-draining soil. Leave the stems over winter for protection and cut back in spring.
Every plant we sell is backed by four decades of growing. Tell us about your garden and we’ll tell you honestly whether this is the right plant for it.
