They prefer moist but well drained soil and they are not fussy about the type. Position in full sun to partial shade in exposed or sheltered position. Bergenia ‘Overture’ (Elephant’s ears ‘Overture’)’ is fully hardy in the severe UK and European winters with an RHS hardiness rating of H6 meaning they can survive temperatures down to between -15C to -20C.
Bergenia ‘Overture’ (Elephant’s ears ‘Overture’) is generally low maintenance, simply remove the flowerhead after flowering and dead foliage. This hardy resilience, versatility and low maintenance means it makes for the perfect ground cover making it popular amongst landscapers.
