Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’ (Salvia sylvestris ‘Caradonna’) is a herbaceous, mound forming perennial with green, rugged, scented foliage. Salvia nemosa can be found naturally from Europe to as far afield as Siberia and Afganistan. It has a RHS hardiness rating of H7, meaning it can survive temperatures below -20C, it can also survive in very exposed positions. It produces captivating, dark violet-purple flower spikes in early summer from June until August. Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’ (Salvia sylvestris ‘Caradonna’) does well in full sun but can tolerate partial to light shade.
